Welcome to Glaze’s website

If you are here, we are going to skip the formalities (for now) and explain why a website for a band that is little more than a reunion act exists.

Over the course of the last year, we (the band) realized through a convoluted and oft-aborted series of reunion shows that the music we created first when we were in our late teens/early twenties (Chris is the old guy), was still vital- maybe not as much to you, the strangers who stumbled upon this site, but it certainly is to us.

We like playing with each other. We know what each other is going to do, and we even know what we like to write. We are a good band when we want to be.  Speaking frankly, I (that’s me, Jason-the bass player) look around in my former hometown of Asheville NC and see legions of bands that no longer seem to be making music to have fun or to just experience the joy of creating. Instead there’s a town of networking assholes who would probably hit their grandmother over the skull with a brick if it meant getting a better show at one of the city’s many venues.

I’m not saying that Glaze is a better band, or anything like that. What I am saying that we’re not careerist assholes. We’re a band that creates music that is fun for us, first and foremost, and then fun for anyone else who is interested in listening.

The new material will start being written over the course of the next six months, through monthly writing sessions that take place over beers and hot dogs. We’ll strum guitars, beat on phone books in lieu of drum sets and play with dogs during the breaks between songs. But we will create.

We have no new song to offer, but right now we are wanting to offer an older tune. It’s from 1996 and the title is “Nerve”.

We hope you enjoy.
